With just a week to go now until Pigs Ear 2011, here’s some more information from the festival organisers…
The news that we’ve all been waiting for in East London (no, not more riots!) but the details for Pigs Ear 2011.
This year the festival will run from Tuesday 6th to Saturday 10th of December, at the Round Chapel on Powercroft road, Hackney. All week it will open at noon, with early closing (22.30) on Tuesday – Thursday.
Full details can be found on this poster – hope to see you there!
Hurray! East London & City CAMRA’s beer festival is back – Pigs Ear 2010 is now open. It’s moved to a new venue, the Round Chapel on the corner of Powerscroft Road. The list of beers is here (usual disclaimers apply) and just to wet your whistle with a taster for the new venue (a stunning building restored by the Hackney Historic Buildings Trust) there’s a couple of photos below.
Since I wrote about the Euston Tap a few weeks ago, I’ve managed to find a several excuses to go back. (Despite the tube strike heading for Euston is actually quite a good move for me – the Victoria line seems to run fine!) Tonight I finally made it upstairs and found that’s quite nice too… the spiral staircase is a bit of a challenge but the bar staff will helpfully provide tray so you have one hand free for the rail!
Tonight’s beers – a pint of Thornbridge Wild Swan (OK, a bit light for my tastes in this weather) and a half of Marble Chocolate Stout which really hit the spot.
This week sees the return of Hackney beer festival – this time at the Round Chapel, more information on the ELAC website. Lastly next week sees the opening of Mason & Taylor’s in Bethnal Green. Good times!
