This weekend saw a Blues & Beer festival hit the Sebright Arms, in Cambridge Heath, E2.
Recently rescued from the jaws of property developers this is the first festival to take place here since the pub closed in 2009.
The festival bar took over a corner of seated area upstairs – with 27 additional casks of beer above the normal stock on the regular bar. London beers featured heavily and I got to sample both East London Brewing Co ‘Nightwatchman’ and Sambrook’s ‘Powerhouse Porter’ which were excellent – dark winter beers.
With a DJ entertaining the masses upstairs, I ventured downstairs into the gig venue. A £5 to get in which I admit I was a little taken a back by as wasn’t mentioned on the poster but it was well worth it as the band were excellent.
All in all a pretty good experience and somewhere I would consider going again.
