The area around Orford Road, Walthamstow is known as ‘Walthamstow Village’. That probably adds a few quid onto the house prices, but to be fair it is in a quiet spot around a 10 minute stroll from Central Station.
The Village is one of a few pubs (and also restaurants in this area).
Despite it’s small frontage this is fairly large pub inside. My visit was around 1130 on a Monday so it’s hardly surprising the place wasn’t heaving.
Beers on offer were mostly Adnams but with the usual London Pride and one definite guest – Brains ‘On The Head’.
On Thursday this week (17th June) – East London and City CAMRA will be stopping in here on one of their pub crawls. Meet at the Rose and Crown (Hoe St, Walthamstow) at 1930 if you fancy joining in!
